Description
The Shocker might not be the same caliber villain as the Green Goblin or Doctor Octopus, but I've liked the character since I first discovered THE ORIGIN OF MARVEL COMICS as a kid. Spidey's AMAZING FANTASY #15 origin is reprinted in that book, as well as AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #72 story, "Rocked by the Shocker!" I don't know what it was about the character that sold me on him--I think it was probably the fact that he looked different from other super villain characters in comics at that time. A lot of people have told me that they don't like his costume, but I love it because it's fun to draw! Here's my take on the Shocker, with colors by Steve Downer I made him a bit of a bruiser, which I think makes him a little more threatening. This was originally prepared on copy paper with a Pitt Pen for a PencilJack Weekly Sketch Group. It was done as a warm-up piece.
