Zatanna Commission

Here is a recent commission featuring the Justice Leaguer, ZATANNA using a laptop! This was done on 11"X17" bristol board with "B" pencils. I think Zatanna is a fun character to draw because she is sexy, witty, and her magic offers up humorous possibilities. The idea of Z using a magic wand to update her Facebook page struck me as a funny idea, so I went for that. I thought it was more interesting than depicting her pulling a rabbit out of hat. Heh. Ever seen Z doing that trick before? LOL. A million times, right? Having Zatanna wearing her high heels and top hat seemed a little out of place for this sort of relaxed, everyday kind of pose, so I chose to omit them this time around. I enjoyed doing the pencil tones! Graytones always add an extra bit of realism to a drawing. My wife told me she loved her smile and the mystic sparkles (which where added with white paint).
