Here is the finished COLOSSUS commission, featuring the classic character from the UNCANNY X-MEN. This was drawn on 11"X17" Strathmore Bristol board, and was inked with Speedball Super Black India Ink applied with a Raphael Kolinsky Red Sable brush (8404). The scene depicts Peitro Raspuptin, walking through the ruined streets of Prypiat, the site of the Chernobyl Disaster. I hid a couple of initials of some of my favorite X-MEN artists and Inkers in the rubble, so I hope you enjoy that!
UPDATE: Here is a cheat sheet to help you find the biggest item hidden in the rubble:
[link]Colossus is always a fun character to draw because he has an iconic look like no other superhero, and I really dig drawing his metallic skin. Colossus was always an instant favorite of mine when I was a kid reading the Phoenix Saga era of the UNCANNY X-MEN. "Pete" was an artist, which I related to, but I loved his honesty and bravery. I like those values in a character.
I dedicate this image to the memory of Dave Cockrum.
Stay shiny!
